Survey Says!

Thank you so much for joining us this summer for our Greet & Eat Food truck events! As part of the event, we asked everyone to answer five questions related to Southfield. The results have been compiled! These were open ended questions because we wanted to start a dialog with you. As a result, we received many different answers to our questions. Today, I am sharing answers that were most common, I hope you enjoy the insights!

Question 1: What makes Southfield a great place to live, work and play in?

Location: You appreciate Southfield’s location and convenience.

The City: You think Southfield is a great community.

People: You appreciate your co-workers and the districts residents and the diversity that can be found here

Safety: You feel safe here and appreciate the service by police and firefighter

Question 2: What would make Southfield an even better place to live?

More Events: You suggested more community events such as movies, concerts, fireworks, parades and fairs.

Road Improvements: You are interested in more road improvement including fixing potholes and adjust timing at pedestrian crosswalks.

Police Presence: You’d welcome more police in the area as a commitment to continued safety, lower crime and violence.

Do Not Change: So many of you love Southfield just the way it is- Thank you!

Question 3: If together, we could take one action on one thing to strengthen this place, what would be most important to you?

Community Wellness Events: You think it is important to foster working together, respecting each other, giving back, and community outreach.

Make it safer: You welcome the sense of increased safety and security that more police presence would bring to the district

Community Festivals and Events: You love to see large cultural events and other outdoor activities in the summer months.

Social Services: You want to help people by decreasing homelessness, offering free healthcare to those in need, and caring for the elderly.

Question 4: What would you love to be a part of?

Organizing: You are interested in helping to organize community outreach and other events

Volunteering: You are interested in giving back to your community in a variety of ways.

Making plans: You think having monthly meetings for planning future events is important

Continue the conversation: You would like us to keep the dialog open by polling citizens, asking for feedback, offering focus groups and research best practices.
